Many other reasons are suspected for eHarmony rejection, such as inconsistent responses to questions and not appearing fully keen on a committed relationship. Depression may genuinely be a serious hindrance for a long-term relationship, but banning those suffering from depression does also appear to be discriminatory. eHarmony’s rejection of gay applicants was the subject of a lawsuit and the settlement involved eHarmony establishing the gay dating platform Compatible Partners. To our knowledge, there are two things that can lead to rejection: homosexuality, and depression. That’s one hour, totally wasted! Naturally, eHarmony maintains that it’s ‘not you, it’s us’. Nevertheless, it would be less irritating if the rejection wasn’t so unexpected, and didn’t follow an hour of careful completion of the survey’s countless questions. This might be a good thing as it saves you spending time and money on a site that can’t deliver what you’re looking for. In fact, a fifth of people who sit the survey are turned down by eHarmony. Some people see this message after completing the personality survey. If you receive a message apologising and saying that eHarmony can’t find suitable people for you, you’re not the only one.
